We had such a blast the second half of our trip to Colorado! We went camping (no roughing it) in my dad's new RV in Moraine campground, Rocky Mountain National Park, just outside of Estes Park. Brady and I always make an effort to go there every time we go to Colorado because we love everything about the area. We hope to be able to spend our summers there when we retire. The first day we walked around the town of Estes and hit some of our favorite spots and then went back to our campsite and cooked over the fire. The next day, Mike and Kim joined us and we took a walk around Bear Lake with the kids in strollers and enjoyed many great views. That night we had a nice campfire and roasted smores. The following day, Brady and I rented backpacks to carry the girls and hiked from Bear Lake up to Nymph Lake and were on our way to Dream Lake when the weather changed our plans. It started raining hard so we headed down the mountain. It was actually a funny experience. The girls stayed nice and warm while Brady and I got wet. It was actually quite a rainy week while we were in Colorado, but the rain knew that we wanted to have a good time and would almost always let up in time for us to enjoy whatever event was happening at the time. That evening our family friends came up from Longmont, Stan and Myrna, and enjoyed the campfire with smores with us. On 4th of July, we checked out of our campsite and set up right near Estes Lake where the fireworks would be held. The whole gang went to Starbucks while it was raining and then walked around town when the sun came out. We headed to the camper for some pizza and playtime for the girls while it rained again and then it all cleared out so that we could enjoy the fireworks! The girls had not slept all day, so they were too tired to stay up for the fireworks, but it was fun to see the awe on Josiah's face as he watched them. We had such a nice time and made some great memories!
